Arctic Caribou 0374
|
The fall of 2004 found me in the town of Barrow
looking for Polar Bears (I was skunked). Heading out of town
in the late afternoon, you can usually find caribou mingling
about. On this particular day the sun could be seen as it was
setting (which takes a really long time) which is rare, normally
it’s overcast. It just took walking the road to find the
right grouping of caribou to put in front of it. This particular
bull kicked up a bunch of snow and than ran up this small mound
for just a heartbeat and as luck had it, I was in place to make
the shot. Photo captured by D2H, 200-400VR on Lexar digital film
and worked in the digital darkroom.
